I received Unearthly by Cynthia Hand in the mail today and I was soooo excited to finally get it and read it.My happiness was short lived, however, when I opened the envelope and found out that the book was worn, its spine completely broken and creased and its edges white from lack of cover.I was stunned.I still cannot believe that book lovers actually treat books like that.I am not talking about any participant of the Unearthly tour in particular, since I can not possibly know who's fault it is.But please!Stop and think:if they were your books, would you treat them like that?I don't think so.But even if you did, remember that these are NOT your books!
I really really hope I won't receive another book in this condition ever again.

Getting Worried!

Hello fellow readers,

The IBT Crew just wanted to announce something-- in which we're getting worried in! We've been getting less and less participants for the tours, less followers, less comments, etc... One of the Two-Book Tours (Prophecy of the Days) just got cancelled because barely anyone entered. I have a feeling the same will go for Nightshade, etc.. The other tours...

If it's because of our tour coordinator, Giota, she isn't doing anything wrong! I've talked about it with her already, and it really isn't her fault she's being a bit harsh on the people who don't follow rules. Remember, this is an INTERNATIONAL book tour blog! International! Which means the books has a BIGGER chance of getting lost, rather than if it were to be only going around the USA. We need to have strict rules in order for our tours to be successful! And, I know you guys probably get annoyed from her emails, but that's what a tour coordinator is! She emails you for addresses, emails you to email her back when you receive a book, email her when you send a book, etc, etc... If this is the problem, for some people. I hope you guys understand.

NEW TOURS - NEW RULES!

Hello dear participants!

As new, exciting and fabulous tours are about to start, me,Reggie and Mavie feel like we should set some new guidelines and rules concerning the tours. We had and still have a really hard time organising the previous tours and keeping track of the books and we want to make it a little easier for us and of course you, as the tours will run more smoothly. Mind you, many of the previous tours got canceled and regrettably so, because there where a lot of people who wanted to read the books and they either got lost in the mail or participants just stopped caring.So, I hope with the new rules, everything will be settled and we could have a little bit more fun and a little bit less worrying. :)

Here we go:

Before you sign up for any tours, you must fill out the Sign Up Form and provide us with your personal info(home address,email etc)
Tracking number is mandatory from now own.Every participant must provide one when they send a book to the next person in line.However, if your country's post doesn't support it or you have to pay extra for it, you are not obligated to provide one.You should ask your local post office about that.
People who are not willing or able to ship internationally, cannot participate! IBT is all about International tours and people who cannot get their hands on ARCs any other way.It is very important to them and so it's very important to us.We always try to group people from the same country together but at some point, you just have to send the book to someone who is not from your country, especially if you participate in many of the tours.There are a lot of US and Canadian residents - only tours you can participate, if you are not willing to pay for international shipping, which is completely understandable.
Participants must send me an email telling me the day the received the book and the day it was sent out.I just cannot ask each one of you separately if you received it or shipped it, or check your In My Mailbox posts each week!It's unbelievably time -consuming and unnecessary. It only takes a second, you guys!
The time each participant is allowed to have the book in his/her possession and send it to the next person is 7 days.I think 7 days is more than enough as a lot of people can read two, sometimes three books a week.Of course, there can be a time extension if a personal problem occurs(we are human,after all!) but then the book MUST be sent to the next person in line.

...and last but not least:

READ THE TOUR RULES BEFORE YOU SIGN UP FOR ANY OF THE TOURS. It is very crucial you read, follow, and cooperate with IBT rules.

Just an update to all who have participated; IBT will be sending out a check-list/email soon for all the tours that are closed! Well, for the sign-ups that are closed. Be sure to check your spam, we don't want you to miss this email. This email is just to let you know that your a participant of that tour and the order of the tour. We will be sending the check-lists either today, tomorrow, or the day after. We were actually supposed to send them out yesterday, sorry for all the delays! Information and Works of a Tour

Works and Information of a tour:

To join a tour, you must comment with your name, email address, and country. Please remember you cannot join any tours if you have not filled out the Blogger Sign-Up Form.
There will only be 10 people in a tour. We cannot go beyond that number. This book will go all around the world so 10 people is the biggest amount of participants we can take for a tour.
We will pick the participants by random. Obviously, we might get more than 10 comments for each tour, and since we can only pick 10 people, we will use a random number generator. That's how we determine who the participants will be, it's the fairest way possible.
Since, this is an international book tour blog, we will prioritize international reviewers. First priority will go to international bloggers, but if there ever is space, then that's the time we will take U.S. and Canada reviewers. Although, the people in U.S. and Canada have to be willing to ship anywhere in the world.
Whoever the last person is in the tour will get an email from the IBT Coordinator telling them what to do with the book. There is a big possibility that the last person in the tour will get to keep the book, if so, the last person will always be different. Another possibility would be that they would have to send the book back to the person who donated it, or the very last possibility is that IBT will get to hold the book for a giveaway. It really depends.
Once you receive a book, please email us. We really need to know where the book is. When we receive your email, we will give you the address of the next person in the tour, the deadline of when you need to mail the book, and other info that may be necessary. This is why it is really important to email us once you receive a book.
The reason we ask you to comment with your country is so that we can put the people in order with their country (e.g. if there are three people who live in the same country, we put them together), this way you can minimize the cost of shipping.
Please only join the tours if you really want to read the book. If you join too many tours, it will get very expensive, think about that..
If your country ever has a tracking number (it will be very rare), please email it to us.
Please post your review on the Mr.Linky (below on each post.) You must post it no later than one week after mailing the book. Please make sure you post your review on the Mr. Linky.

Please remember: it is not mandatory for publishers and authors to ship internationally, but it is for all tour-participants!

If you do decide to email, please give us all the information (just like in the form). Include the book title, author, release date, what type of edition (ARC, hardcover, paperback), what to do with the book in the end, a blurb/synopsis, and how many copies you are willing to provide.

When donating a book for a tour, here is what you are agreeing to:

An honest review from all the participants.
The risk of the book(s) getting lost. This is going to go anywhere in the world so there is a possibility that the book may get lost.

IBT will try their best to:

Make sure the book is in good condition once we give it back to you.
Make sure participants will review the book in a timely manner, in case the book is close to it's release date.

Guidelines and Rules

Rules/Guidelines:

-You must read the book in a timely manner. We will give you a time limit of one week. Please remember that there are people still on the tour waiting for their turn to read and review the book.

-You must mail out the book ASAP after reading it. This means the book is in your possession for a total of one week; you have to read and mail the book in that one week.

-Please try your best to not damage the book while it is in your possession. Don't rip the pages, fold them, etc.. We don't want the book to be torn up into pieces to person number nine on the tour.

-You must be able to ship anywhere no matter how expensive it will be. Yes, shipping is very expensive but remember, people pay the same amount to send the book to you. This may seem a bit too harsh/strict but you must send the book through airmail. We need the book to circulate fast, especially when the book isn't released and when the book is close to being released. Only sign up for tours if you can afford it. This is the only downside to this arrangement.

-You must have an active book blog or an active goodreads account to join all tours.

-You must review the book within one week after you have read it. You must post it on Goodreads and/or your blog/site. Please remember to put International Book Tours somewhere in your post.

-You must post the link to your review in the Mr. Linky under each post. Please post it no later than one week after mailing the book.

You are out of all tours if:

-If you mail a book and it gets lost two times in your possession. (We are sorry but we have to be really strict about this part, we have no way of proof that you have sent the book. Not a lot of countries are like the U.S. who have tracking numbers.)

-If you mail a book late two times.

-If you do not read the book in one week three times.

-If you damage (as in not readable anymore) a book.

About IBT:
International Book Tours (IBT) is a international book tour blog to help promote authors and their books.

Our Mission:
To promote books INTERNATIONALLY and to give international readers access to these books and help the YA market grow globally. IBT wants to help spread word about authors (new or existing) and their books. We want authors to get as much buzz and publicity as possible.This book tour site will also help minimize the excessive amount of copies/ARC's being used for bloggers.

How A Tour Works:
A tour will consist of one copy of the book. Sometimes, it can be two or three copies, it really depends. The book/ARC will be sent out from one blogger to another through air mail/FedEx. It is the participant's responsibility to take care of the book, send the book on time, and of course, read the book on time. Since this tour is international, the maximum capacity of a tour is 10 people. We cannot stress enough that the limit is 10 people per tour. There are chances were the book could get lost, damaged, etc.. In the end, the decision of what to do with the book will be emailed to the last participant.

How To Enter/Participate in a tour:
Once the tour is posted, the blogger may participate. If they do, they must comment on the post. They comment with their name, what country they live in, and of course their email. Once they comment, they are committing to read the book and send it in a timely manner. Now, the IBT administrator or assistant will put all the bloggers in a random generator and will pick only 10 people. Those 10 people will be the participants for the tour.

International reviewers get first priority over US and Canadian reviewers...sorry! Publishers don't send internationally and that's our main goal here. We aren't trying to be racist or anything, we just want international reviewers to get equal opportunity as those in the US or Canada.

What IBT is looking for:
This book tour is mostly focusing on Young Adult. We sometimes will accept requests that are middle grade or adult fiction, but it will be very rare. Right now, we just want young adult novels in the tour.

What IBT is NOT looking for:
Currently, we are not accepting non-fiction and memoirs.

How to donate a book to the tour:
