As of July 29, 2010, new rules have been added to make all tours smoother and easier for you guys, and easier for us too. If you are not willing to cooperate, you are out of all tours.

Getting Worried!

Hello fellow readers,

The IBT Crew just wanted to announce something-- in which we're getting worried in! We've been getting less and less participants for the tours, less followers, less comments, etc... One of the Two-Book Tours (Prophecy of the Days) just got cancelled because barely anyone entered. I have a feeling the same will go for Nightshade, etc.. The other tours...

If it's because of our tour coordinator, Giota, she isn't doing anything wrong! I've talked about it with her already, and it really isn't her fault she's being a bit harsh on the people who don't follow rules. Remember, this is an INTERNATIONAL book tour blog! International! Which means the books has a BIGGER chance of getting lost, rather than if it were to be only going around the USA. We need to have strict rules in order for our tours to be successful! And, I know you guys probably get annoyed from her emails, but that's what a tour coordinator is! She emails you for addresses, emails you to email her back when you receive a book, email her when you send a book, etc, etc... If this is the problem, for some people. I hope you guys understand.

You guys, it's worrying us! We need concerns straight away, so, please email internationalbooktours@gmail.com. It won't hurt us, it's for the better. Thank you!

Hi, I just wanted to let you know I've not really been signing up for new tours because I just can't afford to pay the postage at the moment (I've budgeted for the tours I'd already signed up for but can't afford to do any more at the moment). I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had to tighten their budget with the current financial crisis so that could be why less people are signing up.

I've also found I can order some of the books that you have on tour from my library which costs me just £0.25 per book when international postage is £3-4 per book.

I also wanted to mention that Giota is doing a fantastic job - I sometimes forget to email when I've posted a book so it's good that you've got someone on top of things to remind me :o) I think you're all doing a fab job with the tour site & I'd definitely like to participate more in the future when I have some spare money again :o)

I’m with Sarah. I can’t afford international postage at the moment, and the last two books listed are ones I own copies of. I hope the tours pick up soon.

Same thing here! And I totally support Giota, she's doing a great job! I promise I'll be back as soon as I have the money and time :)

Giota is doing a great job! Managing an International book tour can't be easy. I am a participant in one of the book tours and hope to participate in more.

No complaints on Giota's work from me either :) I just haven't got the time to enter tour right now, even though I desperatly want to read both Nightshade and Prophecy of the Days.

Besides I'm still waiting for Sing Me To Sleep(but it was sent to me 7/6 so I'm beginning to think it is lost in the mail) so if that shows up I have to try and get a chance to read that one.

Don't forget to use Twitter and ask if people please could RT. Great way of spreading the word.

I think Giota is doing an amazing job too.
I try to sign up to only one book tour at the time because I'm currently taking a course that it's very labor intensive, and money is a bit tight for me. So when I sign up I try to make sure I have the money to send the book to the next reader in line, and that I have time to read it.

I'm sorry the tours are slowing down. I'm going to promote them more in my blog, if that's ok.

I think it is a fantastic tour. I haven't been signing up because I haven't had the time recently but I'm going to sign up for one just now. I think you do a great job, don't give up. Maybe some twitter or blog promotions will help. x

I definitely think Giota's doing a great job. The only reason I haven't signed up for any of the more recent tours is just because I've either already got/read the book or it's not one I've not particularly wanted to read.
